A charming remnant of Long Island history

Three Village Central School District is composed of Setauket, East Setauket, Stony Brook, Poquott, Head of the Harbor, Old Field. Some fractions of Port Jefferson. Saint James and South Setauket (or Centereach) are included as well. This district is located on the North Shore along the Long Island Sound and offers many relaxing beaches close to home. The district is known for its three year science research program, inSTAR. InStar has reared a vast number of Intel Science Talent Search semifinalists. Mostly residential, this community is full of ample history. Setauket’s Village Green homes a colonial post office, a mill pond, The Caroline Church; built in 1729, and the oldest existing structure in the town of Brookhaven; The Brewster house, built in 1665. Stony Brook is known mostly for the State University of New York Stony Brook and Stony Brook University Hospital, ranked the 20th best hospital in New York. Although peaceful, the culture rich area offers a variety of wonderful dining and shopping establishments.

The median household income in East Setauket is $110,105 annually and $133,899 in Stony Brook. The majority of East Setauket residents use their own vehicles to commute to work and travel an average of thirty minutes. Roughly, only three quarters of Stony Brook residents travel by use of their own vehicles to work and on average travel less than thirty minutes.

Transportation

Three Village Central School District is located on north, central Long Island. The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) has stations in Stony Brook and Port Jefferson that with one transfer will have you in Penn Station in under two hours. Port Jefferson offers ferrys at The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company that will take you across the Long Island Sound and into Connecticut.
